On 31 July 2026, my son graduated from Merton College, University of Oxford, with First-Class Honours in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE). PPE is widely regarded as one of Oxford's most prestigious and academically demanding degree programmes, and a First-Class Honours degree represents the highest undergraduate classification awarded by the University.

At my son's graduation from the University of Oxford, I held a photograph of my late father and grandparents, symbolising the journey of three generations.

As a father, I could not be prouder. Yet this is not only his achievement. It is the culmination of a journey that began long before he was born.
