On 6 and 7 October, SILC (Santander International Lift City) once again brought together leading international experts to Cantabria, Spain to discuss the present and future safety challenges facing the lift industry. Organized by IMEM Lifts, the international congress focused on EU regulations, predictive safety, and cross-industry innovation.

As in previous years, the congress took place in two of the region’s most emblematic venues, the Centro Botín in Santander, and the Pontifical University of Comillas.

Centred around the theme "Engineering Safety in Motion," this year’s congress focused on the rapid evolution of European safety standards, predictive risk management, and cross-industry technological transfer.

Safety spans every stage of a lift’s life cycle - from design and manufacturing to installation, maintenance, modernisation and daily use.
