Petra Montalbano, Owner & Training Consultant at Petrain services is a committee member for the Lift Industry Mental Health Charter and she is giving Ted some time off as she writes for us for this edition.

I am proud to sponsor the Lift Industry Mental Health Charter. This industry and subject matter are very close to my heart, so I am honoured to serve as both the trainer for the Charter and a committee member.

Being brought up in the industry means I have a personal bias towards those who work in it and the craft of the industry. Even though I have never worked in it myself, my dad was a lift engineer for over 54 years before retiring, and he ran his own lift businesses.

Many of my paternal family are also in the trade. Due to my own struggles with my mental health over the years, and then losing my cousin, a lift engineer, to suicide, I feel extremely passionate about delivering training to those in this community.
