Bob Deevy, the founder of Thames Valley Lift Company and co-founder of Global Lift Equipment Ltd passed away peacefully at home on Friday 18th April.

Bob had been in the lift industry serving his apprenticeship at Marryat & Scott before moving on to form a lift company with other ex -Marryat men. He then created Thames Valley Lift Company which became the leading Lift Controller manufacturer and then with his long-time friend Derek Lycett set up Thames Valley Lift Equipment, now ILE (International Lift Equipment).

The availability of quality lift equipment from USA & Europe together with innovative UK built control systems gave endless opportunities to "fledgling" independent lift companies.  Many current UK suppliers have also been created from Bob’s inspiration and mentorship.

His vision, encouragement and leadership made the UK lift industry what it is today.

He will be missed but never forgotten.
