Cundall’s Graham Barker has highlighted the refurbishment of the lift at the Whitby Abbey Visitor Centre, which has also been featured in Facilities Management Journal.

The project presented some unusual challenges, with the lift installation taking place within a 17th-century building where protecting the historic environment was a key consideration.

Cundall developed the refurbishment design and managed the project through to completion, with the new lift installed by Stannah.

A great example of collaboration improving accessibility while respecting an important heritage setting.
