What effects the hot weather can have on lifts
While we have all been melting in 34 degrees plus… spare a thought for your lift.
Ascendant Lifts recently posted some good advice: The cold weather (temperature and moisture) on hydraulic lifts can be significant, affecting their performance and reliability. Low temperatures can cause the hydraulic fluid to thin (opposite to cold motor rooms), which can result in unreliable operation and downtime. Extreme temperatures can impact equipment and human safety.
Many old hydraulic passenger lifts have external motor rooms on the outside of a building that can get very hot in the summer or during a heatwave. Also, the lift control system and other equipment can be affected by the extreme temperatures.
