Lift Journal: A New Museum Tells the Story of Vertical Mobility

Our partners at Lift Journal have reported on plans for a new Elevator Museum Warsaw, created to tell the stories behind the people, ideas and innovations that have shaped vertical mobility.

Founded by industrial engineer Joachim Burgard, the museum will combine original artefacts, multimedia displays, lighting and design to explore how lifts have transformed cities and modern life. The project is being developed at Grzybowska 61 in Warsaw, with an initial space for meetings, talks, workshops and exhibitions opening first, followed by a permanent exhibition planned for mid-2027.

The museum will also be represented at LiftExpo Poland 2026, taking place from 20–22 October, where the project will be introduced to the wider industry.
