CIBSE is pleased to announce the appointment of Dave Cooper as its President for 2026–2027.

Dave succeeds Vince Arnold, bringing more than four decades of experience in the lift and escalator industry. Dave brings exceptional technical expertise, leadership and a strong commitment to the engineering profession. Throughout his distinguished career, he has built a reputation as an engineer, educator, author and advocate for safety, making a significant contribution to both the industry and CIBSE.

STOP PRESS: Dave has just been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the British Safety Council in recognition of his longstanding contribution to safety in the lift and escalator industry. The Lifetime Achievement Award is one of the most significant honours presented by the British Safety Council. It recognises the world’s ‘best of the best’ individuals who have made a sustained and outstanding contribution to health and safety over the course of their careers, demonstrating leadership, influence, and a lasting impact on industry practice.
