Safety Seminar Brings Members Together in London
LEIA’s recent Safety Seminar brought members together to discuss practical safety challenges, from material handling and working at height to Thorough Examination. Micky Grover-White provided an update on BS EN ISO 8100-1, while Stephen Ives presented the 2025 accident statistics and highlighted the importance of accurate industry reporting.
The event also saw Stacey Wilkes launch LEIA’s new Safety App, developed over the past year by its Safety & Environment Committee. Members were invited to suggest topics for future seminars, so if there’s a safety issue you would like covered, now’s your chance! Read the roundup and share your suggestions HERE.
Contracts & Legal Seminar Comes to Leeds
LEIA’s next Contracts & Legal Seminar takes place on 27 October 2026 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Leeds.

Have Your Say on Occupational Standards
How could occupational standards better support your business and the people entering our industry? LEIA is encouraging members to contribute to Skills England’s Skills for Work consultation.
The programme is looking at making the skills system simpler and more flexible, responding to emerging needs such as AI, digital technology and Net Zero, and increasing participation among young people. Employers, training providers, apprentices and other stakeholders are invited to respond by 16 October 2026. Find out more and access the consultation HERE.
Help Shape the LEIA Brand
LEIA wants to hear what you think of the Association as it reviews its brand and develops its 2026–2031 strategy. What do you value about LEIA and its membership, and how could it better serve the industry in the years ahead?
Both members and non-members are invited to share their views, with a separate survey for each. Find the survey that applies to you HERE.
